Eiffel tower - You couldn't possibly visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even if you do not want to visit this world famous structure, you will see its top from all over Paris. The tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft); when it was completed at the end of the 19th century it was twice as high as theWashington Monument, at the time the tallest structure in the world.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789.The construction was only meant to last for the duration of the Exposition, but it still stands today, despite all protests from contemporary artists who feared the construction would be the advent of structures without 'individuality' and despite the many people who feared that this huge 'object' would not fit into the architecture of Paris.

Today, there is no such aversion anymore among the Parisians, and one could not imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower, in fact it has become the symbol of the City of Light.

                                                                    Gustave Eiffel

The man behind the Eiffel Tower was Gustave Eiffel, known from his revolutionary bridge building techniques, as employed in the great viaduct at Garabit in 1884. These techniques would form the basis for the construction of the Eiffel Tower. He was also known for the construction of the Statue of Liberty's iron framework.

The house during the festival of light Diwali. Deepavali or Diwali, popularly known as the "festival of lights," is a five-day Hindu festival which starts on Dhanteras, celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna paksha (dark fortnight) of the Hindu calendar month Ashwin and ends on Bhaubeej, celebrated on the second lunar day of Shukla paksha of the Hindu calendar month Kartik. Dhanteras usually falls eighteen days after Dussehra. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November.

The man in the picture is putting oil lamps around the house. The mother is directing him and the sister is ready to make fireworks.

Night reflections on river Seine and beautiful buildings along the river.

The architecture in Paris has been constrained by laws related to the height and shape of buildings at least since the 17th century, to the point that alignement and (often uniformity of height) of buildings is a characteristic and recognizable trait of Paris streets in spite of the evolution of architectural styles. However, a large part of contemporary Paris has been affected by the vast mid-19th century urban remodelling. For centuries, the center of the city had been a labyrinth of narrow streets and half-timber houses, but, beginning in 1853, under the direction of Napolean III and his préfet de Seine Georges Eugène Haussmann, entire quarters were levelled to make way for wide avenues lined with neo-classical stone buildings of bourgeoisie standing.

Paris in its early history had only the Seine and Bièvre rivers for water. From 1809, the canal de l'Ourcq provided Paris with water from less-polluted rivers to the north-east of the capital. From 1857, the civil engineer Eugène Belgrand, under Baron Haussmann, oversaw the construction of a series of new aqueducts that brought water from locations all around the city to several reservoirs built atop the Capital's highest points of elevation.

Someone says that school is a temple of knowledge, there is an example. The picture was taken from a Primary High school, and the wall you see in front with all those picture that's a wall of school office. You see top of the left lord Rama with his family, on the left lord Ganesha, lord Krishna on the wall clock in the middle.

Even in the middle of all gods there is an election poster with the nominee. And the first prime minister of India Mr. Jawahar lal Nehru.

Am wondring the link between all those things around, is it the temple or parliament or School.

My friend portrait under the yellow flash light.
Few months ago i got a flash light with some color filter, and to use them i invite my friend to make his rare portrait. I wasn't expecting something like this, but thanks to Yellow filter i got this picture.

I put my Nikon D80 on tripod, put flash light on the corner with yellow filter, i asked my friend to turned right and that's all. The flash was enough powerful and the white wall behind, the combination throw out a wonderful picture.

The shattering reflection cenotaphs.

Orchha is believed to be founded in the 16th century by a Bundela Rajput chief named Rudra Pratap.
With the solemn row of pale brown weed-choked domes and spires, the riverside Chhattris or cenotaphs are Orchha's most melancholy ruins. These are temples constructed as memorials to illustrious Bundela kings. The banks of the Betwa river are dotted with 14 of these cenotaphs.

Indeed the Chhattris are best viewed from this bridge or from the boulders on the opposite bank, where one can see their remarkable silhouettes against the setting sun & their reflections on the still waters of the Betwa. An image that will surely stay in everyone’s memories for a long time. Early morning glow on the chhatris give them a golden colour which is also superbly reflected in the calm waters of the River Betwa.

Fifteen cenotaphs to the Bundela Kings and members of their clan are located on the southern bank of River Betwa. These include the chhatries of Madhukar Shah, Vir Singh Deo, Jashwant Singh, Udait Singh, Pahar Sing and others. Most of the cenotaphs are designed in Panchaytan style. They are constructed on an elevated square platform. The sanctum is square shaped and in the center. The upper portion has been made angular with arches. The peek of the sanctum, sanctorum is patterned in Nagar style of temple architecture.
